Abstract

The management of State-Owned Assets (BMN) at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Kudus still faces various challenges, such as difficulties in asset tracking, lengthy distribution processes, and limited access for work units. This study aims to design and develop an Android-based BMN Asset Management Information System to accommodate the internal needs of IAIN Kudus. The system development method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD) with PHP and Kotlin programming languages and MySQL database. The system is designed to provide various features, such as inter-unit asset transfer, QR Code-based asset tracking, multilevel user access, asset borrowing, asset history, and Android-based notifications. Testing results indicate that the system effectively enhances the efficiency and accountability of BMN asset management at IAIN Kudus.

Review

This paper presents a timely and relevant study on the development of an Android-based State Property Asset Management Information System (BMN) tailored for IAIN Kudus. The abstract effectively highlights a common challenge faced by many public institutions: the inefficient management of assets, characterized by difficulties in tracking, prolonged distribution processes, and limited access to critical information for various work units. This clearly establishes the practical significance of the research, addressing a pertinent need for enhanced operational efficiency and accountability within such organizations. To address these challenges, the study proposes an Android-based system developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, employing PHP, Kotlin, and a MySQL database. The system is designed with a comprehensive set of features, including QR Code-based asset tracking, inter-unit asset transfer capabilities, multilevel user access, asset borrowing functionalities, a detailed asset history, and proactive Android-based notifications. These features directly correspond to the identified problems, promising a more streamlined, transparent, and accessible approach to managing state-owned assets, thereby improving both control and operational fluidity within IAIN Kudus. The reported outcome indicates that the developed system effectively enhances the efficiency and accountability of BMN asset management at IAIN Kudus, which is a significant contribution to the institution. While the abstract provides a strong overview of the system's design and features, a more detailed elaboration on the "testing results"—specifically the metrics and methodologies used to quantify the improvements in efficiency and accountability—would further strengthen the paper. Nevertheless, this work offers a valuable practical solution and a replicable model for other public institutions grappling with similar asset management issues, laying a foundation for future research into broader implementation and long-term impact analysis.
