Introduction

Підприємництво та підприємницька діяльність: зміст категорій. Уточнено зміст "підприємництва" та "підприємницької діяльності". Досліджено як економічну категорію, роль інновацій та розмежування з бізнесом. Запропоновано венчурну діяльність.

Abstract

Для подальшого розвитку теорії підприємництва та операціоналізації її концептів важливим є уточнення змісту її фундаментальних категорій - «підприємництво» та «підприємницька діяльність». Показано, що в Украхні підприємництво розглядається в двох аспектах: як економічна категорія та як підприємницька діяльність, у визначенні змісту якої використовуються різноманітні імперативи. Підприємництво як економічну категорію пропонується розглядати як економічні відносини суспільства та економічних агентів, пов’язані з пошуком, створенням та комерціалізацією інновацій, які з потужною рушійною силою розвитку економічної системи країни. Поняття «підприємницька діяльність» має об’єктивізувати категорію «підприємництво», що забезпечує її використання у прикладних дослідженнях та практичній діяльності. Підприємницька діяльність і у законодавстві, і в науковій літературі розглядається як комерційний вид господарської діяльності, тобто господарська та підприємницька діяльність співвідносяться між собою як загальне та часткове. Для відокремлення із загального поняття «господарська діяльність» поняття «підприємницька діяльність» використовують низку ознак. Тому є підстави стверджувати про певне порушення взаємозв’язку категорії «підприємництво» та поняття «підприємницька діяльність», оскільки інноваційнійсть як фундаментальна ознака підприємництва у тлумаченні змісту підприємницької діяльності втратила вирішальне значення.Показано наявне ототожнення понять «підприємницька діяльність» та «бізнес», що не можна визнати коректним. Запропоновано виділити з підприємницької діяльності ту її частину, якій, дійсно, притаманна інноваційність (пошук та комерціалізація інновацій) і позначити таку діяльність як венчурну.

This endeavor is highly relevant for advancing the theoretical framework and operationalizing its core concepts, particularly within the Ukrainian context. The authors aptly demonstrate how "entrepreneurship" is often viewed in Ukraine through two lenses: as an economic category and as entrepreneurial activity. A significant contribution lies in the proposed definition of entrepreneurship as an economic category, positing it as economic relations related to the search, creation, and commercialization of innovations, serving as a powerful driver for the country's economic system. The paper effectively argues that "entrepreneurial activity" should objectify and operationalize the broader category of "entrepreneurship," enabling its application in practical research and activities. However, a key finding reveals a problematic disconnect: both legislative frameworks and academic literature often portray entrepreneurial activity primarily as a commercial form of economic activity, effectively losing "innovativeness" as a decisive characteristic. This dilution is highlighted as a significant disruption to the essential link between the overarching category of "entrepreneurship" and the practical concept of "entrepreneurial activity." Furthermore, the authors correctly challenge the prevalent but imprecise equating of "entrepreneurial activity" with "business," proposing instead to delineate a specific segment of entrepreneurial activity characterized by true innovativeness—the search for and commercialization of innovations—and to label this segment as "venture activity." Overall, this article presents a timely and valuable contribution to the discourse on entrepreneurship. Its strength lies in its rigorous conceptual analysis and the identification of critical distinctions often blurred in both theory and practice. By highlighting the diminishing role of innovativeness in the common understanding of entrepreneurial activity and advocating for the precise term "venture activity" for genuinely innovative endeavors, the authors provide a crucial tool for theoretical clarity and more targeted empirical research. While the abstract strongly outlines the arguments, a full paper would benefit from elaborating on the methodological approach to this conceptual analysis. Nevertheless, the work is highly commendable for its efforts to refine foundational terms, which is indispensable for the robust development of entrepreneurship theory and for informing effective policy in emerging economies.
