Background: Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is the most common cause of vaginal discharge due to alteration of Lactobacillus spp. colonies with anaerobic bacteria. This condition causes impaired quality of life due to discomfort when experiencing symptoms of vaginal odor. This study aims to determine the characteristics of BV in the Dermatovenereology Outpatient Clinic of Ngoerah Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023. Method: Descriptive cross-sectional study with a retrospective approach for three months at the Dermatovenereollogy Outpatient Clinic and the Medical Records Department of Ngoerah Hospital using secondary medical record data. The research subjects were all patients diagnosed with BV using Amsel criteria from January 2021 to December 2023, and evaluated the characteristics of BV such as age, occupation, coinfection/comorbidities, and the use of vagial douche, and analyzed descriptively with SPSS version 24. Results: During 2021 - 2023, 38 BV cases were found, dominated by the age of 25-44 years (52.63%), married (68.42%), and as housewives (42.10%). As many as 50% of the subjects experienced BV only and some experienced co-infections such as HIV (5.26%), condyloma acuminata (36.84%), vulvovaginal candidiasis (26.31%), gonorrheal cervicitis (10.63%), and syphilis (10.63%) as well as other conditions/comorbidities such as diabetes mellitus (5.26%), gravidarum (15.79%), and urinary tract infections (5.26%). The use of vaginal douching was found in 73.68% of the subjects. Conclusion: Bacterial vaginosis is not considered a sexually transmitted infection. However, co-infection with bacteria, viruses, and candida can occur in bacterial vaginosis. The habit of using vaginal douching is found to be dominant in patients with bacterial vaginosis. Latar belakang: Vaginosis bakterial merupakan penyebab duh tubuh vagina paling umum pada wanita yang disebabkan perubahan pada koloni Lactobacillus spp. dengan bakteri anaerob. Kondisi ini menyebabkan gangguan kualitas hidup akibat ketidak nyamanan ketika mengalami gejala duh tubuh yang berbau amis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik vaginosis bakterial di Poliklinik Kulit dan Kelamin RS Ngoerah periode Januari 2021 – Desember 2023. Metode: Penelitian potong lintang deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif selama tiga bulan di Poliklinik Kulit dan Kelamin serta Instalasi Rekam Medik RS Ngoerah menggunakan data sekunder rekam medis. Subjek penelitian yaitu seluruh pasien yang terdiagnosis vaginosis bakterial dengan kriteria Amsel pada periode Januari 2021 – Desember 2023 dan mengevaluai karakteristik vaginosis bakterial seperti usia, pekerjaan, koinfeksi/komorbid dan penggunaan vagial douche serta dianalisis secara deskriptif dengn SPSS versi 24. Hasil: Selama periode 2021 - 2023, ditemukan 38 kasus bakterial vaginosis yang didominasi usia 25-44 tahun (52,63%), sudah menikah (68,42%) dan sebagai ibu rumah tangga (42,10%). Sebanyak 50% subjek hanya mengalami vaginosis bakterial saja dan Sebagian mengalami koinfeksi seperti HIV (5,26%), kondiloma akuminata (36,84%), kandidiasis vulvovaginal (26,31%), servisitis gonorea (10,63%), dan sifilis (10,63%) serta kondisi/komorbid lain seperti diabetes melitus (5,26%), gravidarum (15,79%), dan infeksi saluran kemih (5,26%). Penggunaan vaginal douching ditemukan pada 73,68% subjek. Simpulan: Vaginosis bakterial tidak termasuk dalam infeksi menular seksual. Namun, koinfeksi bakteri, virus maupun kandida dapat terjadi pada vaginosis bakterial. Kebiasaan penggunaan vaginal douching ditemukan dominan pada penderita vaginosis bakterial.
