Introduction

Peran kepala desa dalam menggerakkan ekonomi desa. Penelitian ini mengkaji peran Kepala Desa Susukan dalam menggerakkan ekonomi desa, termasuk pengelolaan pasar desa sebagai sumber pemasukan. Temukan faktor keberhasilan dan dampak kepemimpinan.

Abstract

Kegagalan menggerakkan usaha ekonomi desa, disebabkan oleh kepala desa belum berperan aktif, tidak memiliki kemampuan dan prakarsa kuat untuk menggerakkan masyarakat, potensi ekonomi desa dan mengkonsolidasikan aset ekonomi desa. Tujuan penelitian ini menjelaskan bagaimana peran Kepala Desa Susukan, Kabupaten Cirebon dalam menggerakkan ekonomi desa.  Pendekatan  kualitatif digunakan  dengan  wawancara mendalam, observasi dan telaah dokumen,  menggunakan teknik analisis  deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kepala Desa Susukan mampu berperan menggerakkan beberapa usaha ekonomi Desa, khususnya pengelolaan pasar Desa Susukan, sehingga menjadi salah satu sumber pemasukan bagi Kas Desa. Didukung pula oleh moralitas dan motivasi kepala desa serta dukungan bantuan dari Pemerintah Kabupaten, Provinsi dan Pusat.

The research thus aims to explore and explain how a specific Head of Village, in Susukan, Cirebon Regency, performs this crucial role. Employing a qualitative approach, the study utilizes in-depth interviews, observation, and document review, analyzed through descriptive techniques, which is appropriate for an exploratory case study of this nature. A significant strength of this research lies in its empirical investigation of a specific success case, offering valuable insights into factors contributing to positive outcomes. The findings demonstrate that the Head of Susukan Village has successfully galvanized several village economic initiatives, most notably the management of the Susukan Village Market, which has become a vital source of revenue for the Village Treasury. This success is attributed not only to the village head's proactive actions but also to their moral integrity and motivation, further bolstered by crucial support from various levels of government (Regency, Province, and Central). This provides a practical example of effective local leadership and a blueprint for potential replication in other contexts. While the study offers a compelling narrative of success, its single-case study design inherently limits the generalizability of the findings, suggesting a need for caution when applying these conclusions universally. Future research could benefit from comparative studies across multiple villages, including those facing challenges, to identify broader patterns and contextual factors influencing success or failure. Additionally, a deeper exploration into the *specific mechanisms* and leadership styles employed by successful village heads, beyond general morality and motivation, could offer more granular and actionable recommendations. Nevertheless, this paper provides a valuable initial contribution by highlighting the tangible impact of proactive village leadership and the importance of multi-level government support in fostering sustainable village economic growth.
