Partisipasi kelompok wanita tani dalam mengolah limbah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk kompos. Pemberdayaan Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Lestari Wankid mengelola limbah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk kompos. Tingkatkan keterampilan, kesadaran lingkungan, & peluang ekonomi.
This paper presents a highly relevant study on the crucial role of Women Farmer Groups (KWT) in household waste management, specifically focusing on the conversion of organic waste into compost. The objective to analyze the effectiveness of KWT Lestari Wankid's empowerment through Participatory Action Research (PAR) is clear and addresses a significant environmental and community development challenge. The abstract effectively conveys that the research identifies a practical solution to waste disposal issues while simultaneously empowering women and fostering sustainable practices within the community. The methodology, based on Participatory Action Research (PAR) with its four distinct stages, is a strong suit of this study, ensuring community engagement and ownership which are vital for the success of such initiatives. The reported results are compelling, indicating a tangible improvement from a lack of optimal waste management practices to increased waste sorting skills, enhanced compost production, and greater member participation post-intervention. The identification of the "komposting galon tumpuk" method as an effective and faster alternative further strengthens the practical applicability of the findings. The positive social and economic impacts, including heightened environmental awareness and new entrepreneurial opportunities, underscore the holistic benefits derived from the program. While the abstract highlights significant achievements, a more detailed review would benefit from a deeper dive into the specific metrics used to quantify the "increase" in skills, production, and participation. Providing some quantitative data or benchmarks would enhance the evidence base for these claims. Furthermore, while the "gallon stack composting" method is noted for its effectiveness, a comparative analysis or more technical details about its advantages over conventional methods would add valuable insight. Future research could explore the long-term sustainability of the program, its scalability to other regions, and a more granular analysis of the economic benefits realized by individual KWT members, including the demand for and marketing channels of the produced compost.
