Menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab kerusakan drainase, (2).
This study addresses a pertinent local issue of recurrent flooding by evaluating the drainage system in the Old Market Area of Waikabubak City, West Sumba Regency. The abstract clearly articulates the problem and the two main objectives: identifying factors contributing to drainage damage and proposing technical solutions for flood mitigation. Employing a mixed-methods approach that includes observation, documentation, interviews, and quantitative descriptive analysis through survey research, the study aims to provide practical insights into improving urban water management. Overall, the paper presents a timely investigation into a critical infrastructure problem with clear local relevance and practical implications. The findings presented highlight several key factors contributing to the ineffective drainage system in the market area. Foremost among these are inadequate channel dimensions, indicating a fundamental design or capacity flaw. Beyond technical issues, the study points to crucial socio-governance challenges, specifically the observed lack of government socialization efforts regarding drainage maintenance and the community's limited understanding of proper upkeep and the impacts of waste disposal. The research effectively identifies both the structural deficiencies and behavioral components exacerbating the problem. Consequently, the proposed recommendations wisely encompass both technical interventions (emphasizing government involvement in channel construction) and community engagement strategies (socialization to market users), reflecting a holistic approach to the identified issues. While the abstract provides a comprehensive overview of the problem, methodology, and findings, the full paper could potentially benefit from further detail to strengthen its contribution. For instance, a more granular description of the 'quantitative descriptive analysis' methods, such as specific metrics used or the scope of the survey (e.g., sample size, specific questions asked), would enhance methodological transparency. There is also a minor geographical inconsistency in the abstract, momentarily mentioning 'Waingapu, East Sumba' while the study's consistent focus and title refer to 'Waikabubak, West Sumba,' which warrants clarification. Additionally, while 'technical solutions' are proposed, elaboration on specific design recommendations or preliminary concepts would add significant practical value. Despite these points, the study offers valuable insights into a common urban challenge, emphasizing the critical interplay between infrastructure design, public awareness, and governmental responsibility for effective environmental management.
