Abstract

Beton ringan Celuler Lightweight Concrete (CLC) adalah bahan konstruksi beton mortar aerasi dengan bobot ringan dan bisa diaplikasikan untuk berbagai konstruksi seperti dinding, lantai, timbunan jalan dan lainnya. Bahan pembuatan beton ringan CLC adalah semen dan pasir sebagai agregat halus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan pasir Dumato yang dihaluskan dan digunakan sebagai agregat halus pada beton ringan CLC. Pasir Dumato adalah material pasir gunung yang sering diambil sebagai material timbunan pada Quary disekitar Kota Gorontalo. Penelitian ini merupakan pengujian eksperimen untuk mengetahui pasir gunung Dumato sebagai pengganti pasir sungai. SNI 8640 2018 memberikan persyaratan kelas berat dan kelas mutu. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan pasir Dumato masuk zone 1. Pasir Dumato diproses dengan dihaluskan dan dicuci sehingga menghasilkan pasir halus dan lolos saringan No 50 dengan kadar lumpur berkurang hingga 0%. Perencanaan campuran 1 semen: 2 pasir dumato dan foam, dihasilkan berat volume sebesar 800 kg/m3 dan kuat tekan 3,23 Mpa. Berdasarkan SNI 8640:2018 maka masuk dikelas Mutu Bataringan non struktural kelas IIA

This study investigates the feasibility of utilizing refined Dumato mountain sand as a substitute for conventional river sand in the production of Cellular Lightweight Concrete (CLC) bricks. CLC is presented as a versatile construction material suitable for various applications, underscoring the importance of exploring alternative and locally available aggregates. The research specifically addresses the abundant availability of Dumato mountain sand in the Gorontalo region, which is currently used as quarry fill material, and aims to determine its suitability as a fine aggregate for CLC, thereby offering a potentially sustainable and cost-effective solution for local construction practices. The methodology employed an experimental approach to evaluate the performance of Dumato mountain sand. Key pre-processing steps included crushing, washing, and sieving the sand to pass a No. 50 sieve, effectively reducing its silt content to 0% and classifying it within Zone 1 according to SNI 8640:2018. A specific mix design of 1 part cement to 2 parts processed Dumato sand, along with foam, was used. The experimental results demonstrated promising outcomes, yielding a lightweight concrete with a bulk density of 800 kg/m3 and a compressive strength of 3.23 MPa. These properties position the developed CLC bricks as compliant with SNI 8640:2018, categorizing them as non-structural lightweight concrete, Class IIA. This research presents a valuable contribution by identifying and validating a locally sourced aggregate alternative, which can significantly reduce reliance on river sand extraction and its associated environmental impacts. The findings offer a practical solution for the construction industry in the Gorontalo region, promoting resource efficiency and potentially lowering material costs. While the abstract clearly establishes the technical viability of Dumato sand, future research could further delve into long-term performance, comparative analysis with traditional river sand CLC across a wider range of properties, and a detailed economic and environmental life-cycle assessment. Nevertheless, this study successfully demonstrates the potential of Dumato mountain sand for sustainable lightweight concrete production.
