Abstract

Dari data perhitungan LHR rata-rata, LHR kendaraan ringan (43,75), LHR Bus 8 ton (16), LHR Truck 2 as (10), sementara jumlah keseluruhan kendaraan / hari (69, 75) kendaraan.

Review

This paper investigates the influence of subgrade California Bearing Ratio (CBR) on the construction and observed damage of the Kisol-Lembur road in East Manggarai Regency. The study is highly relevant given the reported significant longitudinal cracking, with depths reaching 17 cm to 30 cm, along the 7 km stretch of the road. The primary objective is to understand how foundational soil properties contribute to the road's structural integrity and deterioration, and to calculate the appropriate pavement thickness for the segment. Employing a quantitative research methodology, the authors collected data through direct observation, detailed road damage assessments, and documentation. Laboratory analysis of soil samples from the site yielded key geotechnical parameters, including an optimum water content of 8.0%, a maximum dry density of 1.96, and a subgrade CBR value of 37.0%. Alongside these soil properties, a traffic study determined the average daily traffic (LHR) to be 69.75 vehicles, composed of light vehicles, 8-ton buses, and 2-axle trucks, providing essential loading information for pavement analysis. The study effectively highlights critical geotechnical and traffic data pertinent to the Kisol-Lembur road's condition and future pavement design. The reported high CBR value (37.0%) for the subgrade suggests a robust foundation, which prompts further inquiry into the precise mechanisms linking this strength to the observed severe longitudinal cracking. While the abstract clearly states the aim to calculate pavement thickness, the actual calculated values are not presented in the results summary, which would have significantly enhanced the paper's practical contribution. Future work could directly address the correlation between the high subgrade CBR and the extensive damage, and explicitly detail the proposed pavement thickness calculations, thereby providing a more comprehensive solution for the road's rehabilitation.
