Abstract

Este ensayo tiene como objetivo relevar el valor de los procesos constructivos de las arquitecturas tradicionales asháninkas de la Selva Central del Perú. Paradójicamente, estas formas de habitar y construir, que guardan en sí el potencial de ser un rasgo identitario y patrimonial, están infravaloradas tanto por los lugareños como por los forasteros. Reconocer y revalorar las maneras alternativas de interrelacionarse con el entorno puede ser un camino no solo reparador para un pueblo siempre marginado, sino también hacia posibles soluciones a problemas actuales de la arquitectura contemporánea. En primer lugar, definimos los conceptos de patrimonio y territorio; acto seguido, hacemos un breve recuento de la historia del VRAEM y de la manera asháninka de relacionarse con el territorio. En seguida describimos los procesos constructivos de la arquitectura asháninka, para, finalmente, enunciar algunas breves reflexiones al respecto.
