Abstract

Objetivo: Investigar o perfil e o comportamento da produção científica das pesquisas sobre os temas internacionalização e VBR sob a perspectiva da estrutura e da formação das redes sociais no contexto acadêmico internacional. Método/abordagem: Este estudo foi de natureza descritiva, com abordagem quantitativa e de caráter bibliográfico, alicerçado e norteado pelas técnicas de investigação da bibliometria e da sociometria. A amostra da pesquisa contempla 325 artigos sobre os temas objeto de análise. Contribuições teóricas/práticas/sociais: De forma teórica e prática este estudo contribui ao colocar em destaque os achados de investigação, que se concretizam na investigação da produção acadêmica em estado da arte divulgada nos periódicos indexados na base de dados do Web of Science, bem como na identificação do perfil e no comportamento dos assuntos foco desta pesquisa na academia internacional. Originalidade/relevância: A relevância está na contemporaneidade dos resultados, fazendo surgir e contribuir com o maior entendimento e compreensão dos temas internacionalização e VBR publicados em conjunto. A originalidade encontra-se por meio dos indicadores sociométricos, sobretudo, no que concerne às estruturas e a formação das redes sociais dos atores envolvidos no processo de construção do conhecimento e criação do valor científico acerca dos referidos temas na academia internacional.

A significant strength of this study lies in its dual focus on bibliometrics and, crucially, sociometrics. While bibliometric analyses provide an overview of research output, the inclusion of sociometric indicators, specifically regarding the structure and formation of social networks among researchers, offers a deeper, more nuanced understanding of knowledge creation and value generation. The analysis of 325 articles from the Web of Science database promises a comprehensive mapping of state-of-the-art research, highlighting not only key publication trends but also the collaborative ecosystems that drive scholarly discourse in internationalization and RBV. This contribution is particularly valuable for identifying influential actors, emerging research clusters, and potential avenues for future collaborative endeavors, thereby offering both theoretical and practical implications for scholars and institutions. To further enhance the impact and interpretability of the findings, the authors might consider elaborating on specific types of social networks analyzed (e.g., co-authorship, co-citation, intellectual lineage) and discussing how these different network structures contribute uniquely to the evolution of knowledge in the field. While the abstract emphasizes contemporary results, a brief discussion on potential historical trajectories or a comparison with network patterns in related disciplines could also provide richer context. Additionally, exploring the implications of these network structures for knowledge transfer, interdisciplinary collaboration, or the emergence of new research paradigms would elevate the analysis beyond mere mapping, offering critical insights into the dynamics of scientific progress.
