This research proposes an exploration into the contemporary meaning of the Parable of the Lost Dirham (Luke 15:8-10), motivated by the author's curiosity regarding its relevance in modern Christian life. The abstract effectively outlines the study's aim: to delve into the moral and spiritual messages of the parable and its implications for present-day Christian religious education, especially within the context of contemporary Christianity. Employing a qualitative literature review, the study seeks to highlight God's unconditional love for those who feel lost, positing this timeless narrative as a mirror reflecting divine care and a robust foundation for modern spiritual instruction. A significant strength of this proposed work lies in its focus on a foundational biblical parable, which inherently holds profound theological and ethical significance. The abstract clearly articulates the core message of the parable – God's infinite love for every 'lost' individual – and underscores its enduring value for Christian religious education, advocating for the appreciation of individual uniqueness and the dissemination of hope. This re-affirmation of the parable's central tenets provides a valuable reminder of core Christian doctrines, reinforcing their applicability in encouraging compassion and connection within the faith community. The emphasis on practical application for education is particularly commendable. While the abstract provides a clear overview, a few areas could benefit from further specificity. The initial mention of "the parable of the prodigal son" before consistently referring to "the parable of the lost dirham" creates a momentary ambiguity that should be clarified, perhaps in the introduction of the full paper. Furthermore, while the stated purpose includes exploring the parable's meaning "in the controversy or phenomenon of contemporary Christianity," the findings primarily re-emphasize the traditional, timeless message of divine love rather than detailing *how* the parable specifically engages with or illuminates *particular* contemporary controversies or phenomena. Expanding on this aspect – perhaps by identifying specific contemporary issues or debates that the parable addresses – would enhance the paper's contribution to current Christian discourse beyond a general reaffirmation of core values.
