This paper presents a timely and relevant exploration into the evolving practices of religious text consumption among Indonesian Christians, navigating the transition from traditional physical Bibles (Alkitab) to their digital equivalents (alki(tab)). The research effectively addresses a pertinent question concerning how faith communities adapt to the pervasive influence of digitalization, offering a nuanced perspective on the interplay between religious tradition, modern technology, and personal preference. The stated objective—to analyze these preferences through the lens of the sociology of religion—provides a strong conceptual framework for understanding the socio-cultural dynamics at play in this digital transformation within a religious context. A significant strength of this study lies in its comprehensive qualitative methodology, combining literature review, observation, interviews, and the innovative use of "Screenshot Diaries." This multi-pronged approach promises to yield rich, empirical data, offering deep insights into the lived experiences and rationales behind Christians' preferences. The findings are compelling, highlighting how modernization fosters digital familiarity, leading to a dual existence of both physical and digital Bibles. Crucially, the discovery that some adherents still favor the physical Alkitab due to a belief in its greater resistance to electronic device distractions reveals a fascinating tension between convenience and spiritual integrity. The paper's recognition of both advantages and challenges, leading to a "dual transformation" in behavior, underscores the complex implications for religious practice. While the abstract outlines a robust approach and intriguing findings, the full paper could benefit from further elaboration on certain aspects. A clearer articulation of the specific theoretical framework from the sociology of religion would strengthen the analysis, providing a more explicit lens through which to interpret the observed preferences. Additionally, while "Screenshot Diaries" is an innovative method, a detailed explanation of its implementation and analysis within the methodology section would enhance replicability and understanding. Future research could explore the demographic variables influencing these preferences, delve deeper into the nature of perceived "temptations" associated with digital devices, or conduct comparative studies across different religious groups or cultural contexts to broaden the generalizability of these insights. Nevertheless, this study makes a valuable contribution to understanding religious adaptation in the digital age.
