Review

This study tackles a highly pertinent and critical subject: the impact of digital media on political communication, specifically within the Indonesian context. The abstract effectively highlights the multifaceted role of political communication, not just as a tool for influence and mobilization, but as a foundational element shaping political mindsets and societal behaviors. By focusing on how digital platforms foster active interaction, the research positions itself at the forefront of contemporary political science, addressing a phenomenon that has profoundly reshaped democratic processes and public engagement worldwide. The clear statement of purpose and the geographical focus make this an immediately relevant contribution to understanding modern political dynamics. The methodology outlined, a quantitative approach focusing on case studies, utilizes a comprehensive data collection strategy including online surveys, social media content analysis, and interviews with practitioners. This mixed-method data triangulation, particularly the combination of quantitative analysis with qualitative insights from interviews, promises a robust investigation. The key findings indicate a drastic increase in social media use for political campaigns, demonstrably altering voter behavior, stimulating active participation, and influencing campaign directions. The abstract further notes that easy access to information via digital channels empowers citizens to form independent opinions and interact directly with leaders, ultimately concluding a "very positive impact" of social media campaigns in Indonesian elections. Overall, this research promises significant insights into the evolving landscape of political communication in Indonesia. The findings suggesting a strong positive impact of digital media on various aspects of political engagement are compelling and offer valuable takeaways for political actors, campaign strategists, and policymakers. While the abstract strongly emphasizes the positive outcomes, the full paper would undoubtedly elaborate on the specific mechanisms and underlying data supporting these conclusions. This study stands to contribute meaningfully to both academic understanding and practical applications in the field of political communication in the digital age.
