Stunting is a condition of body failure in children due to chronic malnutrition, so children become too short for their age. The purpose of this study was to analyse Stunting Prevention in Barugae Village, Duampanua District, Pinrang Regency using the Collaborative Governance Model. This research uses qualitative research methods. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that collaboration is quite effective by looking at initial conditions, institutional design regarding basic rules in stunting prevention, leadership and Collaborative processes in implementing stunting prevention programmes. However, there are several obstacles in the collaboration to overcome stunting in Barugae Village, namely the lack of awareness among mothers of toddlers about child nutrition. Then, there is a lack of awareness of mothers to bring their children to the Posyandu, as well as people who are entitled to WC but do not have land.
This paper addresses a highly pertinent issue, Collaborative Governance in the context of stunting prevention, a critical public health challenge, particularly in developing regions. The focus on Barugae Village in Pinrang Regency provides a valuable case study for understanding the implementation of multi-stakeholder approaches at the local level. The stated objective of analyzing stunting prevention through the lens of the Collaborative Governance Model is clear and relevant, utilizing a qualitative research method, which is appropriate for in-depth exploration of complex social phenomena. The use of observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection suggests a robust qualitative approach. The research identifies several key factors contributing to the effectiveness of collaborative efforts, noting that collaboration is "quite effective" by examining initial conditions, the institutional design's basic rules, leadership roles, and the collaborative processes involved in program implementation. This structured analysis of collaborative governance elements offers insightful empirical data on how these theoretical constructs manifest in a real-world setting. Pinpointing these dimensions provides a useful framework for other local governments or organizations aiming to strengthen their multi-stakeholder initiatives against stunting. Despite the identified successes, the study transparently highlights significant obstacles that impede full effectiveness. These include a critical lack of awareness among mothers regarding child nutrition and the importance of Posyandu attendance, alongside practical issues such as land availability for sanitation facilities (presumably WC referring to water/sanitation infrastructure). While these obstacles are clearly stated, a deeper analysis within the full paper on *why* these awareness gaps persist or what specific mechanisms are failing to address them, would be beneficial. Furthermore, exploring how the collaborative governance model itself could be adapted or strengthened to overcome these specific challenges would significantly enhance the paper's practical recommendations and overall contribution.
