Abstract

The interchange between women and men in doing household tasks exists in our society, which some people don't know. This phenomenon perceived poor interest, particularly in the Philippine context. This study aimed to describe the struggles, coping mechanisms, and insights of househusbands in modern society, particularly in the Philippines. A qualitative research design, particularly a phenomenological approach, was used in this study. Five participants were purposely selected to undergo in-depth interviews. The data were collected and transcribed verbatim, and the complied responses were thematically analyzed using Colaizzi's methods. Results revealed the following themes: personal management for their struggles, rest and relaxation, a positive mindset for their coping mechanisms, and non-stereotyping responsibilities for their insights. Getting the househusband involved in a support group to enhance their mental well-being was recommended.
