Aplikasi ekstrak kayu manis (cinnamomum burmanii) sebagai anti kontaminan pada kultur stevia (s. Rebaudiana) secara in vitro. Ekstrak kayu manis (C. burmanii) efektif sebagai anti-kontaminan kultur Stevia (S. rebaudiana) in vitro. Konsentrasi 1.5 ml/l optimal hambat bakteri, jamur, dan tingkatkan tinggi tanaman.
Stevia (S. rebaudiana) merupakan salah satu tanaman pemanis alami yang memiliki tingkat kemanisan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pemanis alami lainnya, kandungan pemanis stevia yaitu senyawa stevioside (4-15%) dan rebaudioside (2-4%) dan dulkosida A (0,4-0,7%). Karena adanya potensi sebagai pemanis yang lebih baik dibandingkan pemanis alami lainnya sehingga stevia ini lebih potensial untuk diperbayak, namun perbanyakan melalui konvensional memiliki beberapa faktor pembatas ketersediaan tanaman stevia, sehingga diperlukan Teknik kultur jaringan untuk mengatasi masalah ketersediaan tanaman stevia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ekstrak kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmanii) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri dan jamur pada kultur jaringan stevia (S. rebaudiana) dan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi ekstrak kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmanii) yang memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan Stevia (S. rebaudiana). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan 5 perlakaun yaitu K0: Kontrol (Media MS), K1: Media MS + Novachlor (kontrol posistif), K2: Media MS + Kayu manis 0.5 ml/liter K3: Media Kayu manis 1.0 ml/l dan K4: Media Kayu manis 1.5 ml/l. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak kayu manis pada perlakuan K4 merupakan konsentrasi terbaik untuk memberikan zona hambat pertumbuhan bakteri dan jamur pada kultur jaringan tanaman stevia serta memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertambuhan tinggi tanaman stevia (S. rebaudiana) tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun.

The core objective was to ascertain the extract's efficacy against bacterial and fungal growth, alongside its impact on *Stevia* plantlet development. The findings indicate a clear dose-dependent effect, with the highest concentration (K4: 1.5 ml/liter) demonstrating optimal anti-contaminant activity, resulting in the best zone of inhibition against both bacteria and fungi. Crucially, this optimal concentration also significantly promoted *Stevia* plant height, although no significant effect was observed on the number of leaves. This suggests a targeted impact on plant growth parameters while effectively managing microbial threats. The study's strength lies in its novel application of a natural product for a common tissue culture problem, offering a potential alternative to synthetic antimicrobial agents. The clear demonstration of an effective concentration for contamination control and its beneficial impact on plant height represents a valuable contribution to *Stevia* tissue culture protocols. However, the abstract could benefit from specifying the types of bacteria and fungi encountered or inhibited, and detailing the methodology for assessing the "zone of inhibition." Future research could explore the long-term effects of cinnamon extract on *Stevia* plantlets, investigate the active compounds responsible for the observed effects, and evaluate its application across different *Stevia* genotypes or in larger-scale propagation settings. Further investigation into the differential effect on plant height versus leaf number would also provide a more comprehensive understanding of the extract's physiological impact.
