Abstract

X is one of the large companies in East Java with 2,073 employees. Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in the production area is a crucial factor that affects workers' health, safety, and productivity. An indoor work environment that does not meet health standards can cause various problems, such as respiratory issues, decreased concentration, fatigue, and work-related illnesses. Indoor air pollution has been linked to various respiratory diseases and reduced cognitive performance among workers, both of which are related to exposure to indoor air pollutants, mostly originating from industrial and domestic activities. This study aims to analyze the indoor air quality in PT. X's production area to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards (K3). The method used involves direct measurement in accordance with SNI 7324:2009, including physical parameters (temperature, humidity, lighting, noise) and chemical parameters (carbon monoxide). The results show that in this initial stage of the production area, temperature, humidity, and lighting do not yet meet the quality standards set by Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023, due to suboptimal ventilation systems and physical obstructions in the work area. Meanwhile, noise levels and carbon monoxide concentrations have met the standards set by the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 5 of 2018 and the Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. This study emphasizes the importance of improving ventilation, reorganizing the work area, and conducting routine monitoring to create a healthy and productive work environment.
