Abstract

The Bung Karno Tomb Area requires adequate parking facilities to accommodate two-wheeled, four-wheeled, dan six-wheeled vehicles. A viral case regarding a parking fee of up to IDR 800,000 for a group of buses at the Bung Karno Tomb Tourism dan Trade Information Center (PIPP) highlights the importance of clear dan transparent parking management (Metrotvnews 2025). This study employs a quantitative approach to analyze parking space requirements dan propose solutions for parking area management. The analysis shows a total of 627 parked vehicles, with an average parking volume of 647 vehicles dan an accumulation of 54 vehicles. The average parking duration is 13 minutes for two-wheeled vehicles, 5 minutes for four-wheeled vehicles, dan 6 minutes for heavy vehicles. Based on data from 100 respondents, 54% were male dan 46% were female, with the highest rate of private vehicle ownership among male respondents. These findings indicate that the increasing mobility of visitors must be balanced with more efficient parking arrangements. Therefore, well-planned dan capacity-appropriate parking management solutions are essential to improve visitor comfort, reduce congestion in the tourist area, dan strengthen the positive image of the Bung Karno Tomb Area as a leading tourist destination in Blitar City.

Review

This paper addresses a highly relevant and pressing issue concerning parking facilities at the significant Bung Karno Tomb Area. The motivation, stemming from a widely publicized incident of exorbitant parking fees, clearly establishes the practical urgency and importance of effective and transparent parking management. The study's employment of a quantitative approach to analyze current parking space requirements and propose solutions is appropriate for tackling this infrastructure challenge, with the stated goal of improving visitor comfort, reducing congestion, and enhancing the overall image of the tourist destination. The abstract provides initial quantitative insights into parking dynamics, detailing the total parked vehicles, average volume, accumulation, and specific average parking durations for two-wheeled, four-wheeled, and heavy vehicles. These data points offer a foundational understanding of current usage patterns. However, the abstract could benefit from more specific detail regarding the methodology employed for *capacity analysis* beyond simply a "quantitative approach," particularly how current observations translate into *required* capacity. The inclusion of respondent demographics (gender split and private vehicle ownership) feels somewhat tangential to the core parking capacity analysis unless the study directly links these demographics to specific parking behaviors or vehicle types that influence demand, which is not fully elaborated. A minor detail to note is the "Metrotvnews 2025" citation for a past event, which appears to be a typographical error that could impact the immediate perception of academic rigor. Despite these minor points, the study offers a valuable initial assessment of a critical infrastructure problem, with its findings on current parking dynamics being crucial for informed decision-making. The paper's strength lies in identifying the imbalance between increasing visitor mobility and the current efficiency of parking arrangements. For the full paper, a detailed elaboration of the proposed "solutions for parking area management" and how they directly address the identified capacity deficits would be essential. This research provides a solid basis for local authorities and site managers to develop and implement well-planned, capacity-appropriate parking solutions, directly contributing to an improved visitor experience and the sustainable development of the Bung Karno Tomb Area.
