This research examines the sponsorship contract of cigarette companies in religious activities according to fiqh muamalah in line with the rise of this phenomenon in Indonesian Muslim society. This research aims to find out and understand the muamalah fiqh on sponsorship contracts related to the law of cooperation with cigarette companies in religious activities. This research uses descriptive qualitative research, which takes data sources from library books (library research) using a normative approach that uses the Qur'an and sunnah as the main reference and a sociological approach analysing interrelated social structures. The results showed that cigarette companies as sponsors in the religious field, which is seen as a condition inversely proportional to religious goals. Religion teaches us about taking care of ourselves, not doing damage on earth and not oppressing others. So that by sponsoring religious activities, it seems to support the spread of smoking itself, which we already know has a negative impact on the health of the body. The original law of the contract is valid, what is being discussed is the halalness of the object of the goods being promoted. This contract is not valid considering the harm and the law of this cigarette. This research is expected to contribute and become one of the sources of knowledge for knowledge seekers in knowing the law of sponsorship cooperation contracts in cigarette companies.
This paper addresses a timely and significant issue within contemporary Indonesian Muslim society: the ethical and jurisprudential implications of cigarette company sponsorship in religious activities. Titled "Analisis Fikih Muamalah terhadap Akad Kerjasama Sponsorship Perusahaan Rokok dalam Kegiatan Keagamaan," the research clearly sets out to explore and understand the *fiqh muamalah* perspective on such contracts. Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology, the study draws primarily from library research, utilizing a normative approach grounded in the Qur'an and Sunnah, complemented by a sociological analysis to contextualize the phenomenon within social structures. The core of the paper's argument effectively highlights the inherent contradiction between the sponsorship of religious activities by cigarette companies and the fundamental tenets of religion itself. The research compellingly argues that religious teachings emphasize self-preservation, avoidance of harm, and prevention of oppression, all of which stand in direct opposition to the known detrimental health impacts of smoking. While acknowledging that the original form of a contract might be technically valid, the study pivots to scrutinize the *halalness* and permissibility of the object being promoted. It concludes decisively that such sponsorship contracts are invalid or impermissible given the established harm associated with cigarettes, thereby directly conflicting with the spirit and letter of *Shariah*. The findings of this research offer a valuable contribution to the ongoing discourse in *fiqh muamalah* and Islamic ethics. By meticulously analyzing a prevalent social phenomenon through a rigorous jurisprudential lens, the paper provides critical guidance for individuals, religious organizations, and policymakers navigating complex ethical dilemmas involving corporate sponsorship. This study is poised to serve as an important source of knowledge, enlightening stakeholders on the impermissibility of cooperation with entities whose primary product contradicts fundamental Islamic principles of welfare and public good. It strongly reinforces the ethical framework within *muamalah* that prioritizes collective well-being over superficial financial gain.
